The Sketchbook of a Gentleman: London

This is the first volume from a new series of illustrated books, tracing the life and times of a modern gentleman. Edward is a man about town. He is educated, cultured with an eye for beauty and he has a fascination with history and people. These books are a collection of whimsical illustrations of Edward's adventures as imagined by the illustrator Robin Lucas.

The first book of the series sees Edward's adventures in London. We will start with Edward's adventures in London. Later in the series we will explore further afield, such as the rolling Tuscan countryside with its mediaeval hill towns, or the delights of India with its rich layers of history and magnificent wildlife. The aim of this project is to produce a series of small sketchbooks that give a real flavor of iconic places around the world through the eyes of Edward - our modern gentleman.

1- The book will be a beautiful object with an eye-catching cover and illustrations that will give a different perspective on London.

2- The first book written by a new up-and-coming illustrator to the market. The author has a growing social media presence and following for his work.

3- Introducing a new character of the modern Englishman to the market, he will appeal to a wide audience and make the perfect gift to a brother, sister, father, mother , son, partner.

The intention is that the character will reappear in subsequent volumes and will become collectible.

About the Author

Robin Lucas is a British illustrator and designer. He always has a sketchbook on the go, and he has a particular fascination with the natural world, interiors, gardens, history, and travel. After studying biology at St Catherine's College, Oxford, Robin spent time working at the World of Interiors magazine before starting his own studio specialising in illustration, and design. Robin splits his time between the Isle of Wight, London, and Lancashire, all of which are a great inspiration to him. Robin is a keen traveller and he is always looking to broaden his horizons and discover something new.
