Following her fantastic sweet recipes in The Gluten-free Baker, Hannah Miles is back with a collection of savory recipes especially for those with gluten intolerance and coeliacs.
Baking is the most difficult aspect of the gluten-free diet to overcome, but using clever substitutes and ingenious baking methods, she has created a selection of gluten-free versions of everyone's favourites. Muffins & Scones don't have to be for teatime. Make a batch of Potato and Sage Muffins or Four-cheese Scones and have them with your lunchtime soup.
Ideas for Breads & Dough made with gluten-free alternatives to wheat flour will show just how easy and varied the options can be. Suggestions include Red Onion and Olive Bread, Brioche, and Calzone. Small Bites to enjoy every day include irresistible Cheese Straws, Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls, and party-perfect Cheese and Bacon Choux Buns. Hannah's easy recipes for Pies & Tarts include Chile Pumpkin Tarte Tatin, Creamy Asparagus Tart, and Quiche Lorraine. For everyday inspiration, turn to the Baked Meals chapter.
There's so much to look forward to when Gluten-free Lasagne or Toad in the Hole are on the menu for dinner! Also included is advice on buying and cooking with gluten free ingredients, such as flours, and keeping a gluten-free kitchen. This book is a must for the gluten intolerant, or for those who like to bake for gluten-intolerant family or friends.

A cookbook not about cake! Pretty good gluten free main meal cooking - the title says it all, and so far the recipes have worked. Favourites to date are the Gnudi and to my surprise the Parsnip bread.
