"My God, My God, why have
you forsaken me?"

Have you ever wondered
where God is? How can this be happening? What did I do to deserve this? Have
your circumstances led you to question your faith? Does God care? Does he even
exist?

Thoughts flooded my head from our traumatic failed
adoption. "Lord, where were you this time? Is this how our seven-year-long
journey to have children ends? Are we being punished? Are we cursed? This
adoption seemed so right. I thought I was ready. I really thought I could help
these kids. After all, I started life as an Orphan."

My core
beliefs had been shaken. To make sense of what just happened, I went back and
examined my own life. So many times, the odds were heavily stacked against me,
life, and death situations. Yet, somehow, someway, God always showed
up.

From orphan to carpenter and beyond, the pages of this
book are my life stories. But the book is not about me or my story. It's about
God's. As you read these true stories of my life like parables, may they be a
testament that God is present and active in your life, that he loves you and
has a plan to give you hope and a future.

Industry Reviews
"This is a spellbinding personal narrative of Ken McQuarrie's remarkable life. Remarkable for its authentic processing of pain and suffering, and even more remarkable for the surprising redemptive grace of God that has been evident in the formation and transformation of Ken from earliest breath and onwards. It will bring comfort and insight in pastorally rich ways, and perhaps lead us all closer to the God who is both utterly transcendent AND comforting close (immanent) to each of us, guiding our path ... we can be sure He "will shepherd his people forever" (Psalm 28:9)"

5-Star Review

"McQuarrie was born with a major physical abnormality and was an orphan, not an ideal circumstance for the beginning of anyone's life. What happened after the first three months of his life impacted and shaped him into the man he is today

"McQuarrie speaks much about God and how He helped him to be the man he is today, but he doesn't speak in an "uppity" way as he knows more than the reader, but instead, he writes quite the opposite, his writing in general is done in a faith-filled way but the way he reminisces on past events throughout his childhood and life is done so in a positive manner, regardless if he got into trouble during them or not - he writes humbly, showing that he is a sinner and "normal" person as every reader is, making mistakes and learning from them
