About the Author
Brent Weeks studied at Hillsdale College, before brief stints walking the earth like Caine from Kung-Fu, also tending bar and corrupting the youth. (Not at the same time.) He started writing on napkins and, eventually, someone paid him for it. Brent doesn't own cats or wear a ponytail.
I initially stumbled across this series through an audiobook of the first book. I finished the first book wanting more and ordered the trilogy. I found the whole series to be an easy read and found it hard to put the book down. I did feel like the author could have finished the series a bit better but that does not mean it isn't a fantastic set of books.
Amazing. Everything I have read of Brent Weeks has been amazing. He writes loooong books and yet they're packed with intersting plot twists and genuine connection between characters. Truly amazing, my mate lent this series and the black prism books to me last year, and I fell so far behind in my final year because I couldn't put these down.
Great original story, brilliant characters that leave you unable to put the book down, highly recommended & will leave you wanting more.....
I ordered this series a bit over a year ago and I have read it 3 times since. I found it very easy to become engrossed in the book, fantastic storyline.
I'm new to this author but I must say I will be reading everything he writes! I couldn't put the first book down and am rushing through the second. Great book, recommend
I am a bookworm and am always looking for different themes, this one was special
At first I was desperate for a book, so I bought the first one at the airport. 1 hour into it and I was addicted. I never wanted to put these books down as the real world was a pathetic interlude to the characters in Brent Weeks world. I could not believe that this trilogy was his first work as I became an addict needing something, anything quench my Night Angel appetite.
I first borrowed the series from the local library, but then purchased the boxed set. If you love fantasy, then it does not get any better than this. You find yourself asking the universe 'how can it get any worse for these characters?' and you are constantly surprised. Gritty realism meets fantasy for a thrilling read.
