Pierre Jnr has a mind more powerful than any the world has encountered before. He can make you forget, he can control you and he is only eight years old. Three months after his birth he escaped. An hour later he was lost to surveillance. No one knows where he has been for the last eight years ... Now Pierre Jnr is about to return.

THE HUNT FOR PIERRE JNR follows the activities of an elite group dedicated to tracking down the eight-year-old boy who is currently the greatest threat humanity has ever known. It's a pacy and gripping chase, and an impressive vision of our future.

A post-apocalyptic story where society has progressed instead of regressed. Novel. A consensus based government. Psi powers. Cybernetics. Okay gotta read this. It's good, maybe too good for its own good. The pace and story were fun, the world intriguing. There were no "as if moments" upon reading. A great coherent frolic. But it's more than a frolic, the Philosophy is solid, the Psychology relevant, and thus you are invited to deeper consideration of this work. This pondering, is when the "as if moments" start to occur. I'm not convinced a consensus opinion would swing as quickly as it does in a couple of instances, large groups when faced with an unknown, tend to conservatism more often than dynamism. And the Sociology is scant, which in a light frolic wouldn't be noticed, but screams by it's omission, if you accept the invite to deeply consider the work. Hence the "maybe too good for its own good" line above. Recommendation, read it but don't try to over-analyse it. That aside, I immediately picked up book two, Manifestations, and ordered the third volume Convergence. 9/10
