About the Author

Saviour Pirotta was born in Malta but has lived in Britain for many years. He is the author of over 100 children's books, which have been translated into 28 languages. His recent books include The Orchard Book of Frist Greek Myths, The Giant Book of Giants, The Sleeping Princess/The McElderry Book of Grimm's Fairy Tales, The Firebird. His titles for Frances Lincoln are Turtle Bay and Joy to the World. He lives in Saltaire, Yorkshire.

About the Illustrator

Paul Hess was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1961. He went to art college in Sydney and then worked as a graphic designer and Art Director for various companies both in Sydney and London from 1981 to 1991. He has worked as a freelance art director and illustrator since then. His books for Frances Lincoln are Troll Wood, Death in a Nut, Nail Soup, Cow on the Roof, Dragon of Krakow, Hidden Tales from Eastern Europe, The King with Horse's Ears and The King and the Seed. He lives in Northumberland.
