Hey diddle diddle You all know the riddle A cow jumps over the moon . . . But the moon is very high in the sky. How many attempts will it take before Cow makes her famous high-flying leap?

About the Author

Tony Wilson is the author of more than ten books for children, including CBCA Notables such as Harry Highpants (2007) and The Princess and the Packet of Frozen Peas (2009), as well as The Emperor's New Clothes Horse (2012).

He has two titles coming in 2015. The Cow Tripped Over the Moon, (illustrated by Laura Wood) is a story of triumph and perseverance, and offers a rhyming commentary on the Cow's previous seven attempts on the moon. Emo the Emu, (Illustrated by Lucia Masciullo) is about a grumpy emu's cheer-me-up journey around every State of Australia, with Katie the kangaroo. Both are beautifully illustrated and both are hilarious.

Tony has written some kids TV, namely a couple of episodes of the Cartoon Network show 'Exchange Student Zero' (Bogan Productions), voiced by Rove McManus.

Tony's also penned two novels for adults (Players and Making News), numerous articles for magazines such as The Monthly and Good Weekend and newspapers pieces. His sports memoir, Australia United, is an absolute favourite amongst Socceroos fans. His own sports career included a year on Hawthorn's senior list. Unfortunately, he never played a senior AFL game.

His television appearances include 'Race Around the World', 'The Einsten Factor' and 'Santo Sam and Ed's Cup Fever'. He's an ex-Triple R Breakfaster, and a regular on ABC Local Radio and Radio National.

Comments about The Cow Tripped Over the Moon:

I bought this book, intending to use it with the playgroup I run for National Simultaneous Story Time, but after reading it to my own children (4 and 6) I realised it was too long for my group (which is primarily made up of kids in the 0-3 age range).

My son (who has autism and is obsessed with numbers) absolutely loved it, because of all the times in it, and my daughter who loves nursery rhymes absolutely loved the parody.
