The Bicklebys' mailman has fallen right into the Bicklebys' birdbath.

He did not trip on the sidewalk. He was not chased by a dog. He did not accidentally bump into it while reading one of the Bicklebys' magazines....

The mailman fell into the birdbath all because of a small little leak in a garden hose. Yes, a garden hose. A moose, a goose, a flock of crows, a bee, a lawnmower, and some other things were also involved....

In the tradition of This Is the House That Jack Built, this rhythmic read-aloud tells a topsy-turvy story of cause and effect -- and it's sure to cause a few giggles along the way.

Author Biography: Andrea Perry was born in Cincinatti, Ohio, but now writes in rhyme in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband and two children. She is a poetry editor, and has had many poems published. 'Stink Stoppers!' is her first picture book.

Alan Snow was born in Kent, and studied fashion at Salisbury College of Art. He then did many jobs such as tree surgery, animation, and mixing flavours into yogurt. He is the author of several books, including the prize-winning, 'How Dogs Really Work'.
Industry Reviews
In addition to blue birds, yellow birds, and orange birds, there's a mailman in the Bicklebys' birdbath. He wouldn't be there if the girl with the garden hose hadn't sprayed some nest-building crows, and, in the tradition of "This Is the House That Jack Built," one incident snowballs into another and, in this case, results in a soaked mailman. Although the chain of events causes havoc in the Bicklebys' yard, everyone from the moose to the goose to the lawn-mowing boy pitches in to restore order. Set in the summer, in a yard of green grass and blooming flowers, this enjoyable read-aloud contains plenty of rhyme, lots of brightly colored illustrations (rendered in acrylics), and one very cute white goose with great balance.— School Library Journal
