It sounds too good to be true. You can save money and the world, inoculate yourself against many of the ills of modern life, and enjoy everything more on both the sensual and profound levels? Preposterous!

Yet here is a toolkit to help you do just that. A tweak here, a twiddle there; every strategy in The Art Of Frugal Hedonism has been designed to help you target the most important habits of mind and action needed for living frugally but hedonistically. Apply a couple, and you'll definitely have a few extra dollars in your pocket and enjoy more sunsets. Apply the lot, and you'll wake up one day and realise that you're happier, wealthier, fitter, and more in-lust with life than you'd ever thought possible.

Comments about The Art of Frugal Hedonism:

I loved this book. The information is expressed with humour and wit; like you are listening to a really funny, caring and well traveled friend. As a consequence I really absorbed the information and I have found myself making better decisions. No more magazines and mindless take away coffee, not because I am forcing myself or as a chore, but because life is magical without these things. My wallet no longer has a whole in it and I have this book to thank for it.

I bought this book as a gift, having heard the author interviewed, so my review is someone else's but I trust her judgment. Enjoyable and interesting reading and wise advice.

You can get everything you need out of the book by just reading the table of contents. All the tips are pretty common sense. No practical useful advice whatsoever. Spend your money elsewhere.

This perspective of consumerism fitted mine...it is good to think about what we do or don't spend our money, time and resources on. Written with good humour..balanced.
