This stunning companion to the National Museum of Australia’s blockbuster Indigenous-led exhibition, Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters, explores the history and meaning of songlines, the Dreaming or creation tracks that crisscross the Australian continent, of which the Seven Sisters songline is one of the most extensive.

Through stunning artworks (many created especially for the exhibition), story, and in-depth analysis, the book will provide the definitive resource for those interested in finding out more about these complex pathways of spiritual, ecological, economic, cultural, and ontological knowledge — the stories ‘written in the land’.

Beautiful book

A beautifully written and produced book which tells the very important story of the Seven Sisters Dreaming. Meet the people from the Western Desert and read this story in their words. The book is filled with personal reflections and an insight into the creation of artworks about the Sisters. If you were lucky enough to see the exhibition 'Songlines - Tracking the Seven Sisters' at the National Museum in Canberra you will love to own this book.

This is a wonderful book

The book is a wonderful record of an outstanding exhibition at the National Museum of Australia. There are great descriptions and stories of the meanings of Songlines, the Aboriginal elders who curated the exhibition and the paintings and other artworks and installations that made up the exhibition. If you didn't get to the exhibition, this is a good way to delve into it.

A one off chance to learn If you were lucky enough to visit the National Museum exhibition it would be a treasured reminder. If like me you could not attend it gives an insight into the exceptional works
