The mother of all parenting diaries. You've read parenting stories before but most parents are only managing a small brood; with six children, all under eight years old, actor Madeleine West (Neighbours, Satisfaction, Underbelly) can justifiably lay claim to having seen it all.

In this hilarious and moving book, Madeleine takes us through a year of her life as a mother and shows us that it is possible to have a large family and keep your sanity, wisdom and sense of humour intact.

About the Author

Madeleine West is an actor who has been a star of some of Australia's most popular dramas.

She commenced a degree in Law, before deferring her studies indefinitely to turn to acting. She joined the cast of Neighbours in 1999, an 11-week stint which turned into a four-year role. She has since been seen in Winners & Losers, Satisfaction, Underbelly and House Husbands.

Madeline has been in a relationship with restaurateur Shannon Bennett since 2005. The couple have six children together: Phoenix (born 2005), Hendrix (born 2008), Xascha (born 2010), Xanthe (born 2012) and twins Xalia and Margaux (born 2014).

Six Under Eight is her first book.

Fantastic book, I cannot wait for the next one

The product was easy to carry, store and read. The lay out was effective and each chapter started with a picture of one of the children which gave a nice touch. The cover was attractive. Stories were narrated in a great order.

Not funny....or well written

Sure six kids is tough in any circumstances, however when you are fortunate enough to have, not one nanny, but ultimately two, and afford renovations on your primary residence whilst you take off to your beach house 'investment home' to avoid the chaos that is renovating AND are able to host childrens b'day parties at your husband (partner's) restaurant while his pastry chef makes the cake.....your chaos and mine are a little different. Your 'advice' doesn't seem that real and its hard to empathise with your situation. This is what I would tell Madeleine West. This book is a glimpse into a B-grade celebrity's life that isn't even that well written and I would not recommend it. She's looking for a new career as an author and my opinion is 'this aint it'.
