The best-selling children's sewing series now invites kids ages 8–12 to discover the fulfilling fun of patchwork quilting. Step-by-step photos show every stage of the techniques and projects.

As soon as they pick up the basics of sewing, many kids become curious to understand how to stitch together fabric scraps to make one big piece. This comprehensive, photo-rich guide shows kids how, with step-by-step instructions for creating one-of-a-kind quilt tops, then adding batting and backing, and stitching the layers together to make a finished quilt. Young sewers can practice their quilting skills with more than a dozen creative and practical projects - including an illustrated placemat, a foundation-piecing pencil pouch, a patchwork pet bed, an appliqued family crest, and a recycled T-shirt quilt.

Book Features:
  • Builds on the phenomenal success of Sewing School. This book follows the same winning approach of the previous books in the series, which have sold 197,000 copies.
  • This vibrant quilting community is eager to share its creativity with the next generation of crafters.
  • Quilting teaches important math skills, plus storytelling and art. The authors - one an elementary school teacher and the other a cultural curator - know how to seamlessly integrate educational lessons into fun and practical kid-friendly projects.
