On Wednesday, 26 January 1966 Australia Day the three Beaumont children left their home in the Adelaide suburb of Somerton Park for a morning at the beach. By the end of the day, the worst fears of every Australian parent were realised when Jane, aged 9, her sister Arnna, 7, and their four-year-old brother, Grant, did not return home.

The Beaumont Children Case remains Australia's most famous unsolved mystery. The unknown fate of the three siblings has become an integral part of Australia's urban mythology.

More than any other crime, the disappearance of the Beaumont children has become one of the defining events in the history of this country.

WRITE A REVIEW

Well researched and plausible

3

This book is good recap of all the information made public during and after the Beaumont case investigations. The case is still unsolved and remains open. As a former Adelaide resident I remember the strong effect this case had on many people, a feeling of sadness and powerlessness that still lingers today. This book provides some insight into the personalities and mindsets of the various investigators, reporters and even psychics who became involved along the way. There is interesting analysis and information provided about the historical context including the settlement policies of South Australia. It includes information about other cases involving children which provides substance to the authors well researched theories. It was difficult to read this book without feeling immense sadness and empathy with the parents of all the families whose children go missing due to the heartless and cruel acts of others. The book is easy to read but it is a grim subject matter. One comes away with a strong desire to see justice done.

Boopktopia's prices are competitive; products arrive quickly and in good condition. I find I don't buy books from other on line outlets.

It was a good book for around that time when the children were taken, It was never solved so a bit disappointing when some thing is not solved but no one can help that but had some very good theories in the book worth reading if your into true crime :)

Good book

Well written story telling and told of a few happenings that i dont think the general public were aware of. The writer also lightly touched on a couple of other unsolved cases with information that was enlightening!

Somewhere, someone must know.

This is every parents nightmare dealt with in a compassionate manner, after nearly 50 years there must be someone who knows what happened or is hiding something. It is a depressing read, for who among us would like all of their children to vanish without trace, without saying goodbye and not hearing anything ever again
