Tyson Yunkaporta
Tyson Yunkaporta, an Aboriginal scholar and member of the Apalech Clan in far north Queensland, wears many hats as an academic, researcher, arts critic, poet, and traditional wood carver. He is the founder of the Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lab at Deakin University in Melbourne and is known for his book "Sand Talk." Yunkaporta's work is centered around applying Indigenous methods of inquiry to address complex issues and delve into global crises. Alongside his academic pursuits, he actively engages in the traditional practice of carving tools and weapons.
