This study covers the development of computer systems for use in safety-critical applications, the technologies used and the experience of those using them. After several introductory chapters which set the scene for newcomers to the area, there follow chapters on practitioners' experiences, cautionary tales and recommendations. Based on a series of seminars held by the Safety Critical Systems Club in 1991-1992, the book contains contributions from many leading experts in the field.
