Industry Reviews

"This book was for me an easy, light, and colorful read. I was born in a communist country myself and was surprised to learn several real facts from this book. I was not aware of it. With this book, I dived into this past-time energy again and was taken away through the chapters to much more colorful experiences than expected from the black and red cover of the book. This book made me aware of how special this empire was because I connected only darkness with it, but I learned it was a patchwork of beauty too due to the countries and people in it. The food might be the bait to get this book because it already suggests, that the book is less heavy in its content than one connects with Communism. In reality, the recipes are at the end of the book and make a bonus to this book for me. I'm glad I have the recipes as a history collection and inspiration. The real treasures of this book are in the stories, from my point of view, which occupy most of the pages of this book. If I didn't know the stories are fictional, I would have thought the stories are real, because they totally mirror the energy I sensed when I lived in a communist country myself. I think, most of it really might have happened similarly. The author grew up in the middle of communism herself and experienced these times first-hand. This book definitely made me richer in my horizon, thank you to the author for writing it. I also gifted my sister a copy because she can read English and grew up in this time." (F. Ton.
