Christians are in desperate need of the fire of God. But so many either don't know what they're missing, or they had the fire and lost it. When passions have grown cold, and when our hearts feel distant from God, we can't allow the embers to go out.
As John W. Nichols (author of Healing is Here) was serving God as a missionary and pastor, Jesus told him that he was a prodigal son. He thought he was doing all the right things, but didn't realize he had left the Father's discipline. Eventually, John felt his zeal for the Lord had become dull. We'll come back to Abba, allow Him to remove the things that have drawn us away, and get ready to receive what He has for us.
