It’s 1964 when a crazed firebug begins torching properties in the once tranquil Hamilton Valley in NSW Australia. Night after night, the wail of sirens wakes the local residents from their sleep. There are no clues to the identity of the culprit, leaving the local police and interstate detectives completely baffled.

Little do they know that this would last for close to four years!

The detectives have their eye on several persons of interest, when suddenly the method of lighting these fires is discovered… a unique and very clever tactic!

When a much loved local is brutally bashed, the valley residents fury burns fierce. Accusations are hurled and friendships shattered as each person becomes suspicious of the other!

The Mason family is in shock when confronted by the finger pointed at one of their own for the shocking destruction the ‘invisible firebug’ is causing the locals.

Detectives are alarmed at the explosive anger they experience from the fruit growers when they charge the young man with masterminding the crime.

Beautiful Ellie becomes tangled in a web of ‘red hot’ lust, with dire consequences!

The constrictions of Mary’s religion suddenly bring on a change to her temperament… much to Harvey’s surprise.

Father Damien, the priest from the nearby seminary, has a penchant for lurking around, watching the aftermath of the fires…

Grandma Emmie, the keeper of family secrets, holds the key to the reason a newcomer has arrived in the valley. She has to make a decision to reveal the truth for all concerned.

Bad boy Eddie tests the boundaries when he attracts the eye of young Kathy Miles… over her father’s dead body!

Evil has entered the valley and the locals have an epic fight on their hands!
A vividly written story based on true events.
The story will remain with you long after you finish this compelling book.

Fabulous big read!

Loved this story, loved that it was based on a true story. Terrific.

Firebug unites and divides a country town

I read this as possible source material for a TV mini-series. While it has many great characters, particularly the women, and tense situations and mystery, its time frame is too long and the characters too reactive for a drama. But it's still a great read once you get your head around who's who.

Book with the lot!

Terrific story, easy to read and so very entertaining from start to finish, really loved it. Recommend to all who love a book with the lot!

Best Read, loved it

Loved this book, loved how it was written, loved the fact it was based on a true Australian crime mystery. It was so good to not have a book filled with incidental information, I read a lot and so many books are so over written that you have to skip parts to get to the story again. This is not the case with Red Hot, it flows and keeps you reading. Highly recommend it. Can see it as a series on TV. That would be spectacular.(My family is passing this book around, I was fifth in line!)Lucky me!

Great Read

Daughter gave me this for Christmas and I want to say it hooked me from start to finish. Great read! It is set near where I live and the crime has gone down in history in these parts. Alldis sisters have written a terrific read hope they write more.

Worth reading page turner

I enjoyed this book from the start to the finish. When I first got it I thought it might not have been a blokey read, I read it and enjoyed it and leant it to a mate and he enjoyed it just as much. It's a different book, different from the usual crime/mystery type of read, really interesting storyline and the way it keeps you guessing is brilliant, even got a bit of spice in there, it's got a bit of everything and it's easy to read and really is a page turner.I don't have anything bad to say about it at all. Good One!

Loved this book

As I said bit tricky at the start, due to all the family members but once you get in a couple of chapters it's page turning from there on. Loved it, recommend it, hope these two sisters write more, they do it well! Crime mystery seems to suit them, this book is terrific to say the least.

Top Book

A great read, a couldn't put it down experience. Loved it and hope these two keep writing. Great work and it would make a terrific movie.

Great Travel Reading.

I received this book as a gift to take travelling,we are travelling around in a caravan. Seeing some terrific places in Australia. I just had to write a review of some description as this story is so engaging and interesting. I wanted to put my opinion of it out there. The Alldis sisters have written a true 'Aussie as' story, it holds your interest and just keeps you reading and completely entertained, it's a fantastic book and I can't recommend it highly enough to those who love a good mystery whodunit crime story with a bit of shebang!

Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi!

Terrific book, such an interesting story, shame it had to end, it's a pretty big read and it was such a pleasure to follow. Has heaps in it, never a dull moment.I enjoyed it so much I was sorry it had to come to a finish, great book, well done to the sisters, Cheryl and Leonie for writing this story that they lived as younger girls in the 60's, they should write more. It really holds your interest right through.
