Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. Now she returns to the empire – to confront the shadows of her past . . .

The fourth breathtaking instalment in the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series.

Bloodthirsty for revenge on the two men responsible for destroying her life, and desperate to find out if the prince and his captain are safe, Celaena returns to Rifthold, the seat of so much evil. She has accepted her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, there are dark truths to learn and debts to be paid. Aelin must stay hidden beneath her assassin's hood and draw on her mortal strength as Celaena to prevent the King of Adarlan from tearing her world apart. Only then can she fight for her people.

Readers will be held rapt as Celaena's story builds to an agonising crescendo, packed with heart-pounding action and swoon-worthy romance.

What's not to love!?

Such a great book, that I recommend to everyone young adult I know! Last book I needed to add to my collection of the entire series!

I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. It's hard to put down.

Great book great series really different and intriguing

Me and mum both read the whole series and loved it. Definitely not one where you can skip books but you definitely come to love the character

I would buy this again and again and again

So many new amazing characters that are easilly loved and great progressing, not too slow not too quick. Just perfect

This series is pretty special

Love this series, total page turner.

Not the best of the series

I had high hopes going into this book being the 4th in the series and I really did enjoy the first 3. My problem being how slow the pace of the book took with what I found to be many pointless chapters that were just filler. As I neared the end of the book and the main event was yet to happen I was thinking that it must carry over into another book, yet the last few chapters are dedicated to it and rush through it. The ending I found to be quite disapointing

Underwhelmed Fan

As this series progressed it steadily increased with an overly descriptive writing style, I love that the world and characters have depth but feel that there was an excessive amount of dialogue over unimportant things in this book, that said, when it came to the most important part of the story it felt rushed and underdeveloped. I was also expecting more around Arial, perhaps there should have been another book, where special time could have been focused on him and a better grand finale, however, if the first ¾ of the book had've been condensed I think everything could have been written into this book. I still enjoyed this story, I'm just a little disappointed...

Part of the joy of a great fantasy series is the gradual discovery of the world, so carefully and lovingly constructed by the author. This series delivers that pleasure in spades ... If you're a YA high fantasy fan who hasn't yet dived into this series, this is a mistake that you must correct
Praise for the Throne of Glass novels, Thoughts from the Hearthfire

Celaena balances between the living and the dead, humans and faeries, while her world creeps toward a dreadful war between the great and the monstrous. I was afraid to put the book down! ... Celaena is as much an epic hero as Frodo or Jon Snow!
Praise for Heir of Fire, bestselling author Tamora Pierce

Wow. Just ... wow. So many things happened in this book. It took a completely different direction to anything I expected. It may be my favourite in the series yet
Praise for Heir of Fire, Planet Print

THE book of 2014 ... I laughed, I bawled my eyes out and I never wanted this to end. A story of family, love, friendship, loyalty and self-discovery, steeped in Maas' signature style, the plot will leave you reeling and breathless for more
Praise for Heir of Fire, Fiction in Fiction in Fiction

Magic and fantasy come right to the forefront and it is credit to Maas that she can create not one kingdom but two that are so vividly described, so rich with detail and character plots
Praise for Heir of Fire, Words Are the Key to Your Soul

Heir of Fire is without doubt my favourite book of this series so far. With dragons and witches, fae and magic, fire and love, betrayal and loyalty, Sarah J. Maas has given me everything I could want in a fantasy novel. This series just gets better and better
Praise for Heir of Fire, Jess Hearts Books

I didn't think anything could surpass Crown of Midnight, but this was a sensational addition to the series and is definitely one of the best fantasy stories I've ever read
Praise for Heir of Fire, Little Birdie Books

Enthralling and well paced, exhilarating and wonderfully written
Praise for Crown of Midnight, Realm of Fiction

Packed with brilliant, intelligent and witty characters, corrupted rulers, dark and good magic alike. The world-building is incredible, and the plot promises something even greater from the sequel ... This is not one to be missed
Praise for Throne of Glass, Pen to Paper
