Die vorliegende polydiagnostische, systematische Zwillingsstudie beweist, daß das Spektrum der Psychosen aus dem schizophrenen Formenkreis kein Krankheitskontinuum darstellt. Es besteht aus zykloiden Psychosen, unsystematischen und systematischen Schizophrenien wie sie von Karl Leonhard beschrieben wurden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, daß bei zykloiden Psychosen und systematischen Schizophrenien somatische und psychosoziale Faktoren die Hauptursachen sind, während bei den unsystematischen Schizophrenien die genetische Disposition ganz im Vordergrund steht.
