There wasn't one recipe I didn't want to try. The recipes are reasonably simple, easy to follow, categorised well and offer alternatives to some ingredients. Beautiful photography too!

Ottolenghi's 'Simple', modern food made easy

5

Written to assist the delivery of interesting, tasty food that is quick to prepare, always requires 10 ingredients or less, identifies where components can be made ahead without risking 'freshness', and is focussed on what most cooks would have in their pantry. Passes the ultimate test, after reading a recipe I want to eat the dish immediately.

Amazing recipes using vegetables. I want to try everything. Haven't tried his meat dishes yet but really looking forward to trying them. Lots of herbs used so have purchased fresh herbs for my garden.

I love this book

I love this cookbook. Brilliantly set out. Beautiful to look at. I have cooked about 10 dishes so far (in the last month) and have even repeated a couple of those recipes. I would be happy to eat them all again. I loved this book so much I immediatly bought a second copy to give to my mother as an early Christmas present.

I love it

I'm an average cook with a short attention span. I bought this book because I've been trying to make veggies a bit more interesting for my family and I was encouraged by the title. I have to say, this book has delivered on all counts. There are lots of recipes that take less than 30 mins, lots that have less than 10 ingredients and lots that hero veggies in loads of different ways. It's awesome. There are loads of recipes that aren't too complicated but it also gives you room to experiment with more techniques as your confidence grows. So far every dish has been a success and I am really enjoying playing with this book. There are a couple of new ingredients to try if you're interested (black garlic and rose harissa - I'm looking at you) but It's not compulsory. I'm actually finding the new flavours fun and right up there with our goal of Trying New Things. Thumbs up!

"Fabulous book" * Good Housekeeping *
"Simple food in a way that is undeniably Ottolenghi - in other words beautiful and delicious" * Evening Standard *
"Simple, proves that taking a less complicated approach to cooking needn't mean losing out on flavour. Try these new recipes for an easier route to mealtime nirvana" * Delicious magazine *
"[Yotam Ottolenghi's] latest title, Ottolenghi Simple is a thrill. I particularly adored the pasta with pecorino and pistachios, lamb with almonds and orange blossom, and baked rice with tomato confit and garlic. Many of the recipes have fewer than 10 ingredients and can be made in under 30 minutes. While a lot of cookbooks meet these criteria, few have Mr. Ottolenghi's far-ranging flair" * Melissa Clark, New York Times *
"Fantastic. Scintillating flavours . . . dishes you can cook with ease" -- Diana Henry * Sunday Telegraph *
