It only takes a small spark to ignite a child’s mind! Written by an expert,Optical Physics for Babies is a colorfully simple introduction to optical physics. Babies (and grownups!) will discover how light is refracted and reflected, and even how rainbows are made.
About the Series
With a tongue-in-cheek approach that adults will love, this installment of the Baby University board book series is the perfect way to introduce basic concepts to even the youngest scientists. After all, it’s never too early to become an optical physicist!
When it comes to baby books, farm animals and construction equipment abound. But where are the board books about science and math? In a world where toddlers operate smartphones and computers before they learn to walk, is it really too soon to teach them Newton’s three laws of motion or Einstein’s theory of general relativity?
Sydney based Chris Ferrie is a physicist, mathematician, and father of four budding young scientists. He believes it is never too early to introduce small children to big ideas. The baby university series bring complex scientific ideas into a form that anyone can understand, including your three year old. Introducing babies to math and science promotes literacy in these subjects later in life when they encounter them in school. Ferrie is on a mission to treat babies like the geniuses they are.
In Rocket Science for Babies, readers will learn about aerospace engineering, including the basics of hot lift and thrust that makes things fly. Quantum Physics for Babies and Newtonian Physics for Babies give simple introductions to the principles that give quantum physics and Newton’s laws of motion their names. General Relativity for Babies introduces Einstein’s most famous theory and teaches babies all about black holes, gravitational waves, and more.
All books in the series approach topics with a tongue-in-cheek humour that adults will love and bright colourful illustrations to entice the youngest reader.
