Of Bonds and Bondage is a gripping tale, filled with mystery, love, hate and revenge. Archie Bingham, son of Sir Archibald Bingham, an eminent British barrister, is an assistant District Attorney in New York. When he tries to blackmail Joseph Bocacci, a businessman with past ties to the Mob, into giving information about certain members of the Mafia, Joseph enlists his adopted grandson, Frankie Leeman, a lawyer, to look into Bingham's background before he emigrated to America. Leeman's mission takes him to London, England, and during the course of meetings with former associates of Bingham, a shocking tale unfolds of a man, seemingly, possessed of the devil and the crushing effect he had on the lives of those he came in contact with. Once armed with damaging information against Bingham, and the reason behind his having to leave England, Leeman returns to New York and confronts him with what he has. Bingham then has to consider Leeman's demands and his thoughts takes the reader back over his life and you get his version of everything that took place, as well, the reason for the bitter relationship that existed between him and his father. There are two love affairs. One, heartrending between Leeman, while in London, and a young English woman of a different persuasion. The other between Bingham and his half sister. There is also the mystery of Joseph Bocacci's connection to the death, in Italy, of Frankie Leeman's natural parents.
