A poignant story told by Magdalene Williams of the Nyulnyul People. Although raised in the confines of Beagle Bay mission, she was constantly exposed to her traditional culture through her elders. Her account of the coming of the missionaries and the resultant destruction of law and culture are interwoven with Nyulnyul stories.
About the Author
Magdalene Williams is a member of the Nyul Nyul people from the Beagle Bay area of northern Western Australia. She is a Nyul Nyul language speaker and custodian of many traditional stories.
