Roger Aus is pastor emeritus of Luthergemeinde in Berlin-Reinickendorf, Germany, and is the author of numerous books on the haggadic background of gospel traditions. In my opinion, he has never been given the full credit he deserves for his scholarly work. Aus's research represents the most detailed and knowledgeable work currently available in what should be an important area of the study of Christian origins...Ultimately, there are very few scholars who can match Aus's proficiency in both rabbinic sources and the NT texts, coupled with a genuinely critical attitude. -- James G. Crossley * Review of Biblical Literature *
...Aus leaves no stone unturned in his intertextual quest to discover the presence of words, phrases, themes, and structures, the recognition of which will help readers understand a given pericope...Aus's studies open up new possibilities and potentially solve old problems. They deserve careful and appreciative reading. -- Craig A. Evans, Acadia DivinityCollege * Rbl Book Reviews *
