Love Has No Boundaries tells the beautiful true story of Lucy and George, and how the sudden outbreak of WW2 and conscription interrupted and tested their love beyond measure.

Almost fifty years after the war ended, Karen Lamb, the granddaughter of Lucy and George discovered twenty-four letters shared between her grandparent’s. In honour of them, and in honour of the forgotten art form of letter writing, Karen compiled Love Has No Boundaries to share their love, fear and uncertainties at that time with the rest of the world. Each letter tells of the couple’s desperation, uncertainty and pain, but also reveals their love and strength in themselves and most of all their love and strength in each other and their family.

Along with the letters, a detailed history and timeline is shared, as well as Karen’s personal reflections. These timeless letters tell the story of one family, but represent thousands of Australians who shared the same hope and support during the war.

I have only good comments for Love Has No Boundaries. Its a window into the lives of two people that are victims of circumstance. Their love truly knows no boundaries. Among difficulies they endure they are an inspiration and example to us all. There is much between the lines to be gleaned as the story unfolds. I have reread it because of the authenticity and will read again. It's hard not to.

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. What a beautiful love story that endured in difficult times. You feel as if you really know George and Lucy and how hard it must have been to be separated. The author Karen has done an amazing job in tying the love letters together into a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Love story told through letters

5

I found the book to be an easy read and the author has been very successful in linking the love story, told through letters,to timelines of events happening in the World War at the time. The love that shines through the letters is a memory now lost to present day communication.

What a beautiful true love story. It shows all about the lost art of letter writing and gives you an idea of what life in that time would have been like. I highly recommend anyone to take the time to have a look at this wonderful book.

What a truly inspiring read, it's such a beautiful love story from World War II. It's so humbling to see so many letters written by a man to his beloved wife and young family during such volatile and worrying times. We've lost the wonderful art of letter writing these days and the author Karen Lamb has certainly given us all a special journey into the past. The book has an ending I certainly didn't expect. Karen should be commended for sharing her grandparents true love story with the rest of the world in this brilliant book!

Love Has No Boundaries by Karen Lamb

A beautifully written, easy to read story of true love interrupted by the physical and emotional stresses of World War 2, at times so intimate that I felt as though I were there. An excellent read for everybody, especially for those of us never having had to endure the heartbreak and the ravages of war in our homeland. Such has been the impact on me of Karen's true story that I have commenced my second reading of the book. I have recommended "Love Has No Boundaries" by Karen Lamb to all of my friends as a "must read". Thank you Karen. Reviewed by: Pat Caulfield

An inspiring love story

What a wonderful story of love, joy and heartache put together with interesting snippets of World War 2. I felt George's concern that his son David would not know him when he returned and the love he felt for his 'nibs' and his loving wife. Little Ann was always in his thoughts and I can't imagine how hard it was for George to be separated from his family whilst serving on the ship. A beautifully put together book that will inspire you to keep going in even the toughest of situations. Highly recommended.
