John Ibrahim's incredible life story told in his own words.

Last King of the Cross lays bare Australia's most notorious underworld figure.

In the mongrel tongue of the streets, John writes of fleeing war-torn Tripoli with his family and growing up in Sydney's rough and tumble west - before establishing himself as a tough guy and teen delinquent, then a bouncer, enforcer and nightclub king on the Golden Mile.

Bullets fly, blades flash and bodies fall. In a city of shadows, John builds his army and empire - partying like a playboy prince of darkness while staying one step ahead of the cops, the outlaw gangs and hungry triggermen, plotting to take him and his family down.

Crazier than Goodfellas, more compelling than The Godfather, Last King of the Cross is a colourful crime saga like no other and powerful proof that truth is always stranger than fiction.

About the Author

John Ibrahim was born in Tripoli, Lebanon in 1970 (or maybe 1968, or even 1972), son of a civil war fighter and a merchant's daughter, and the second eldest of six children. John bought his first Kings Cross nightclub at 19 and still calls the Golden Mile home.

Suprisingly Interesting!

At was at times shockingly honest. I saw a different side to john which was refreshing. It was also great knowing the places he referenced in the book (from my hay-day) but don't fooled There Is alot of interesting sydney underworld stuff. Interesting.

Fascinating read

I actually loved this book. I have since read her second book 'back on top'. Really interesting and a great different view about sex workers. Would highly recommend this book. Really well written & easy to read. Gives you a different understanding of these women.

Interesting read

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written. As a child during these times, it was interesting to read about the days of the Cross. Very one sided story. Would be interesting to read a policemans version. Definitely enjoyed this book.

All lies

Last king of the cross

Interesting book, but the vocab and story line will only appeal to a certain genre

Great insightful read

A great read that keeps you engaged from beginning to end!

Very slow, first book struggling to finish, only will because I always finish book I start. Should have added more about his childhood. Only interesting part and funny. Maybe next book he concentrates on ratbag child johnny and find a better writer To Help write. It's just to slow.
