What could be more beautiful than a colorful bouquet of artfully folded paper flowers?

From the world-renowned studio of Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander, these new origami flower designs are as enchantingly complex as real blossoms. The best part is they won't wilt after a week on your table!

LaFosse and Alexander together founded Origamido Studio, a learning center and design studio specializing in exquisite handmade origami paper. This new collection of paper folding projects includes many innovative flower models.

About the Author

Michael G. LaFosse has been an origami artist and teacher for decades, and co-curated the Origami Now! exhibition at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. The recent award-winning film Between the Folds by Vanessa Gould features LaFosse and his work prominently.

"There are so many origami books written specifically on flowers these days. As a woman who loves all kinds of pretty, I, of course love making flowers out of origami and own quite a few books on this topic. This "Origami Flowers kit" seemed different from any others that I already own so I got quite excited [...] There are some simple models but also more challenging, intermediate to lower end of advanced models, included in the book as well so it can attract large populations of origami enthusiasts. I very much enjoyed LaFosse & Alexander's "Origami Flowers kit" so far and look forward to fold more from it." --"Yuki's Origami Blog" "This kit has paper, a dvd and a book full of traditional style flowers. The paper is a standard kami paper, brightly colored on one side, smooth, thin, and easy to fold. The book diagrams are in standard origami notation, but have instructions in English under each step to clarify the steps. The dvd is very well done, with the focus on the folding and brightly lit. [...] Just delightful. Each step was explained, and using it in conjunction with the book, it all made sense. It was like having a private class in how to fold that rose. I tried a few other models using the book and dvd together and it helped out considerably for fitting in the last piece of a modular flower. The lily model, as shown on the DVD actually showed me a faster way to fold it than I've been doing for the last several years. If you're more than a casual folder- this kit may be too basic for you but I'd strongly recommend it to beginning folders. The video instructions are well explained, and in conjunction with the book will teach you how to do origami. The models are well chosen too. The flowers can be use as ornaments or gifts." --"Don't Eat The Paste" "This little kit packs a lot of content for origami flowers lovers. It contains a booklet, 180 sheets of flowery colored standard origami paper in two packs, 6 and 3 inch squares, and a DVD. There are 20 attractive designs here, ranging from simple, modular flowers to the more advanced tulip and rose. Flowers are accompanied by instructions for matching leaves, and the book provides ideas for what papers to use, tips for proper folding techniques, and ideas for using the finished designs. The booklet is very well produced with many photos throughout. The DVD that comes with the kit contains full video instructions for each and every single project in the book. It's hard to beat Michael LaFosse's teaching videos--they are very well executed, with over-the-shoulder views and good lighting, and he takes care in explaining every move in detail, while giving many tips and tricks, discussing the background of the designs and more. A great kit for both newcomers to origami or for anyone who'd like to fold some nice flower designs!" --"Gilad's Origami Page" "Love flowers? Well this book not only shows you how to create beautiful floral masterpieces out of paper, but also supplies the colorful paper to make them with! LaFosse & Alexander's Origami Flowers Kit contains 180 sheets of origami paper along with a full-color 96-page instruction book and a 2 1/2 hour instructional video DVD! I love the colorful selection of flowers in this book. You can create beautiful paper folded greeting cards, gift boxes, bouquets and much more." --Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom blog "The boxed kit, published by Tuttle includes 180 folding papers, a full-color instructional booklet and DVD. You get 2 sizes of folding paper, 7 and 15 cm squares in purple, yellow, red, green, orange and pink solids. I love when everything is included! [...] I found the instructions very clear but if you get stuck just use the instructional DVD, it's very well done, you can go from project to project." --Handmade By Deb blog "There are some simple models but also more challenging, intermediate to lower end of advanced models, included in the book as well so it can attract large populations of origami enthusiasts. I very much enjoyed LaFosse & Alexander's Origami Flowers kit so far and look forward to fold more from it." --Yuki's Origami Blog "There is a nice balance of easy, intermediate and harder models in this book [...] I have read numerous origami books and folded hundreds of flowers, so it was nice to see some original designs. The quality of the book itself is pretty high, its a soft cover, but the simple stapled spine makes it easy to open the book without it flipping closed. The pages are modern satin, thin but sturdy. The colours and the photos are high quality and pretty. The size is about A5, which makes it easy to handle, and cute!" --Paper Kawaii blog "Full marks for the content of the book and DVD. This box set is prime gift material." --The Paper Craft Post blog "A great kit for both newcomers to origami or for anyone who'd like to fold some nice flower designs!" --Gilad's Origami Page "Origami teachers LaFosse and Alexander's kit contains 180 sheets of origami paper, a comprehensive instruction booklet with diagrams, and a DVD showing the variety of techniques used to execute intricate designs."--Travel Life magazine "The video instructions are well explained, and in conjunction with the book will teach you how to do origami. The models are well chosen too. The flowers can be use as ornaments or gifts." --Don't Eat The Paste blog
