About the Author

Hello, I’m Nicole and yes, I too, struggle to find time. I’m doing the usual juggling with children, family, work, extensive to- do lists and all the things life can throw at us. Some days I keep all the balls up in the air and other days... well not so much.

I’ve lived and worked in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US, in some of the busiest cities in the world; the ones that never sleep. Yes, that’s a lot of homes, schools, workplaces and moving boxes.

Along the way, I’ve had some big titles and have worked with a lot of great people. These people have different nationalities, varied personalities, speak different languages and are culturally diverse. But they do have one thing in common: they all have 24 hours in a day. That’s 1440 minutes each day whether they’re busy or not.

We’re all wearing a lot of hats. Mine range from mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, executive coach, colleague, queen of very colourful to-do lists, chief organiser and cheerleader. I realised pretty early on I wanted time to wear all these hats and enjoy doing so.

As an executive coach, I ask a lot of probing questions and then listen carefully. When someone needs to develop new skills, transition in their career, change direction or reflect, it takes time. When a client needs an action plan to reach their goals, strive towards the top of their mountain, get creative, or have an important conversation, it takes time. When we want to polish our strengths, step up and shine, again, it takes time. When a friend or family member needs you to just be there, it takes time. We’re all asking ourselves ‘what do I need to do more of, less of, or differently, to get through today?’ Finding this time became the objective. Developing ways to steal back a minute became the imperative as much for me as everyone around me.

I am an unshakeable optimist and know that stealing back your minutes will feel great.

Just a minute now will share how. Grab a cuppa, settle in and read on.
