A third action-packed adventure for the incredible Jimmy Coates.

Will Jimmy Coates ever be free of NJ7? Why should they need to find him if they are able to control him?

Through Christopher Viggo's powerful new contacts, Jimmy and his friends escape to the USA. They go into hiding in Chinatown, New York City. While they are there, Jimmy finds himself experiencing headaches accompanied by flashing images - something that hasn't happened to him before.

Are they prophetic visions? Can Jimmy piece together the puzzle of his obsession before time runs out? And how can he convince anybody of what he thinks he knows, when the only evidence is locked inside his head?

Revenge will come.

But what form will it take?

About the Author

Joe studied Philosophy at Cambridge University, graduating in 2002. While there he wrote and performed with the Cambridge Footlights and co-hosted a show on the University radio station. As well as being a writer, he is a songwriter and musician. He has performed as a singer/songwriter at various venues in London, and made a self-produced CD of his pop material.

Roaring, constant action zooms along in this first sequel to Jimmy Coates: Assassin? (2005). It seems that Britain has been taken over by a dictatorship, and 11-year-old Jimmy is a product of the new secret service, NJ7. He's more machine than boy, genetically programmed to kill. Now Jimmy struggles against NJ7 and his programming, yet finds it useful as he sneaks back into England to rescue his friend's captured parents, fighting for good against the evil UK government. Picking up where the first adventure ended, Craig relies on readers' familiarity with the preceding story to understand what's going on, although he scatters some small clues for new readers. No realism here, but action lovers won't care as their cyborg James Bond conquers the baddies. It's a nifty sci-fi device for bringing an action novel to middle-schoolers, allowing Craig to pack suspense onto every page. Zippy and exciting for fans. (Fiction. YA) (Kirkus Reviews)
