The stellar duo behind Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise reunite to create a book that will have children (and their parents!) roaring with laughter once again.

From the team behind the acclaimed Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise comes a very scary read-aloud story … or is it? Monster wants to be in a scary story – but is he brave enough? Scary stories have creepy witches and creaky stairs and dark hallways and spooky shadows… Oh my goodness me! That is very scary. Maybe a funny story would be better after all? Brilliantly interactive, children will delight in the wickedly funny turns-of-the-page, see themselves in the goofy, unconventional monster, and revel in the bold, hilarious illustration of celebrated graphic artist, Jean Jullien.

Industry Reviews
"[...] a playful, inventive read-aloud tale" * The Bookseller *
"A fun, jumpy read." * Sunday Express Magazine *
"Sean Taylor knows just how much scariness little monsters, purple or otherwise, can take, and his clever scaling back of the terror as the tale proceeds, is spot on for keeping young listeners on the edge of their seats. Equally Jean Jullien's creepy scenes have a sufficient degree of zaniness to grip but not unduly alarm; and that final twist really hits the spot." * Red Reading Hub *
"With its witty dialogue between reader and character, Sean Taylor's playful book is perfect for children of a more nervous disposition, and we love the in-your-face artwork by hot French graphic designer Jean Jullien, too." * Gurgle *
