How do I access my eTextbook content?

Access your eTextbook content via the Booktopia website under eTextbook Library in My Account. Select the eTextbook and a new web browser tab will open with your content.

What devices can I read an eTextbook on?

You can read your eTextbooks on any compatible computer, tablet or mobile phone. eTextbooks are compatible with both Macs and PCs as well as iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and Chromebook devices.

Do I have to be connected to the internet to read my eTextbook?

Yes.

What browsers can I read my eTextbook on?

You can read your eTextbooks on the current or previous version of Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera, Mobile Safari, or Chrome for Android.

Can I access my eTextbook on more than one device?

Yes. You can access your eTextbook on up to 4 authorised devices only (2 computers AND 2 mobile devices)

You have Reached your Machine Activation Limit

When signing in on a new computer or mobile/tablet device, you may receive a message stating that you have reached your maximum number of devices.

Only two computers and two mobile devices are able to be activated at any given time on your account.

If you are activating a new computer or mobile device, and receive the error message: "You have reached maximum device Limit" you will need to de-authorise a computer or mobile device linked to your account in order to activate a new one.

What is the difference between an eText and an eTextbook

eTexts, also known as eTextbooks, are the terms used for electronic versions of a text that can be read on a desktop, tablet or a mobile device. Electronic textbooks may include part or all of the printed text version.

Can I Cancel/Refund this product?

Change of Mind

You may cancel your eTextbook purchase and request a refund for change of mind reasons only within a reasonable period, provided that:

  • You have not viewed and/or printed, in total, more than twenty percent (20%) of the eTextbook.
  • You have not yet used the access code for any online resource that may be included with your eTextbook purchase.

Can I purchase eTextbooks in bulk?

Not at this time.

Can I purchase eTextbooks as a gift?

Can I print from my eTextbook?

Some eTextbooks can be printed; restrictions are set by the content publisher for each eTextbook.

Please note that printing is for personal use only. Any commercial use is not allowed as it violates the Terms of Use.

What is CoachMe?

CoachMe provides ungraded practice questions and knowledge checks right in your eTextbook Bookshelf. These AI-generated questions help you prepare and practice all in one place. This learn-by-doing approach based on learning science can improve your study experience by showing you what you already know, so you can focus on what you need to learn.

How do I have the eTextbook read aloud to me?

Once you have opened up the Read Aloud function through the More Options section of the eTextbook, you can have the book read aloud under the default settings by using the play icon. When you select the play icon, you will see the text being read aloud in yellow, and the play icon will become a pause icon.

How do I create a Citation in an eTextbook in Bookshelf?

The Citation function is within the Table of Contents view of an eTextbook in the Bookshelf. Select the ... icon when the Table of Contents is open.

Note: The Table of Contents Views and Citation may not be available in every eTextbook due to our Partnering Publisher's choice to not include page numbers within their source file. We cannot update an eTextbook source file with page numbers to enable Citations because the publisher owns the copyrighted material.

What are Flashcards?

Flashcards are a built-in study tool. They have a front and back, will shuffle, and also allow you to notate eg whether you knew the information on the card or not.

How do I take notes in my Bookshelf eTextbook?

Anytime you select text to create a Highlight, you will be presented with a menu (unless you have already turned on Fast Highlighting). You then can select "Add Note." This will create the Note, with the first Highlighter shown at the top of the menu.

What is an eTextbook's Margin Notes?

The back arrow icon opens the currently-viewed sections' Margin Notes. These are the notes you make when highlighting your eTextbook.
