Eileen Browne worked as a school teacher and a youth worker before becoming an author and illustrator, with her first book being published in 1977. She believes that certain groups of people are not well represented in children’s books, so she gives priority to multi-cultural and female characters. Eileen was born in Birmingham, but now lives in Wiltshire.
