Ever had an itch you couldn't scratch? Hairy-Nosed Wombat has one, and somebody has chopped down his favourite scratching tree! Join our marsupial hero on an itchity, scratchity adventure as he tries to find the perfect place to scratch his butt.

Itchity, scratchity, grumble and groan.
A shudder and shake, a snort and a moan.
A grunt and a huff, and a spitterly splut.
He said
"I really need to scratch my butt."

This story, written by South Australian author Elizabeth Frankel, and illustrated by Garry Duncan, will charm children and adults alike.

About the Author

Garry Duncan is an active conservationist and artist working from his property on the Murray River. He paints and sculpts, has held numerous solo exhibitions and been involved in corporate commissions.

About the Illustrator

Born in Jamestown SA in 1963, Liz has spent all of her life in regional SA, & most of her life in the Riverland. She lives and works from her River Murray Property near Waikerie, which she shares with her husband, Clint, the youngest of their four children, Penny, (the older 3 have all ‘flown the coop’ and live in nearby Adelaide or Mildura) Rosie their Border Collie/Kelpie/Labrador and a group of egg-laying chooks and ducks.

In addition to writing, Liz works alongside Clint as a visual artist and they specialise in kiln fired glass art made from recycled glass. The beauty of their natural environment inspires much of their work. Liz runs a studio/gallery on site that is open to the public by appointment.

Comments about Hairy Nose, Itchy Butt:

I stumbled across this book and was enchanted from the first page. How is this poor hairy nosed wombat to ever scratch his itchy butt if his environment keeps getting destroyed? The poetry and rhyme is great, the suspense makes it a page turner and the environmental message is clear. A must have in every primary school classroom and a gift to all my nephews and nieces this year.
