On a journey of escape, exile, and exploration, he traveled from Quebec to Alaska, down the Canadian and American coasts and western regions, to Mexico and Belize, and finally back to Quebec. While riding "the Healing Road," Neil recorded in his journals his progress and setbacks in the grieving/healing process, and the pain of constantly reliving his losses. He also recorded with dazzling, colourful, entertaining, and moving artistry, the enormous range of his travel adventures, from the mountains to the sea, from the deserts to Arctic ice, and the dozens of memorable people, characters, friends, and relatives he met along the way.

Lonely road with your thoughts

5

What a ride Neil takes you on, through the heartbreaking losses and his close friendships he calls upon to help his through, the first half of the book (part one) was amazing and my heart broke for the first time while reading, Neil's descriptive writing put you right in the frame when he then sets out on the healing road to figure out why he lost everything in such a short time. However towards the end of (part one) Neil uses letter writing to his friend Brutus as a way of self healing and venting which in turn when in through out (part two) thus dragging it on and lost the flow of the book, yet in Neil's way of writing he did use extremely descriptive writing to put you in the picture via his letters to brutus of his thoughts, be many personalities that he then become and the sights/smells and physical/emotional emotions he was going though....the end was a surprise and i will miss the ghost rider he become throughout his journey as the reader lost that part but gained the knowing all ends well
