Once upon a time, there was a king who discovered that there was a dragon on the loose in his kingdom.

A knight, a dragon, and stolen treasure: what a thrilling tale this Touch the Art has to tell! As the brave knight pursues a dragon who has taken the king’s jewels, he races past famous paintings of kings, queens, and other royalty. During the exciting chase, children can touch the glittery chain on Hans Holbein’s Henry VIII, tap the crown in Nicholas Hilliard’s Queen Elizabeth I, and see Raphael’s St. George Struggling with the Dragon.

About the Authors

Amy Guglielmo grew up in an artsy family in Plattsburgh, NY. She is an award-winning artist, freelance writer and the co-author of the Touch the Art series for kids. A former teacher, Amy now lives with her husband on the shores of Costa Rica and Lake Champlain where she enjoys water sports just as long as she doesn't have to get her hair wet. Amy is working on several new picture books, a YA novel and a women’s fiction novel inspired by her life as an artist.

Julie Appel has been an enthusiast of the fine and performing arts her whole life. After practicing law in NYC for many years, Julie decided to devote more time to pursuing her passion for writing. The creation of the Touch the Art Series enabled her to combine her interests in both the Arts and writing. Now a full-time writer, she lives in NYC with her husband and two children.

WARNING! CHOKING HAZARD: Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

Industry Reviews

"While these board books tap into the trend of introducing young children to fine art, they have a safety warning stating that small parts make them suitable for ages three and up–something to consider for collections that attract younger users. A little information about each artist is included, along with a small image of each painting without the added pieces." - Lisa Glasscock, School Library Journal
