Personal and fearless - a call to arms for feminists new, old and as yet unrealised by one of our most outspoken feminist writers.

'With wit, insight and glorious, righteous rage, Clementine Ford lays out all the ways in which girls and women are hurt and held back, and unapologetically demands that the world do better. A passionate and urgently needed call to arms, Fight Like A Girl insists on our right to be angry, to be heard and to fight. It'll change lives.' Emily Maguire, author of An Isolated Incident

A friend recently told me that the things I write are powerful for her because they have the effect of making her feel angry instead of just empty. I want to do this for all women and young girls - to take the emptiness and numbness they feel about being a girl in this world and turn it into rage and power. I want to teach all of them how to FIGHT LIKE A GIRL. Clementine Ford

Online sensation, fearless feminist heroine and scourge of trolls and misogynists everywhere, Clementine Ford is a beacon of hope and inspiration to thousands of Australian women and girls. Her incendiary debut Fight Like A Girl is an essential manifesto for feminists new, old and soon-to-be, and exposes just how unequal the world continues to be for women. Crucially, it is a call to arms for all women to rediscover the fury that has been suppressed by a society that still considers feminism a threat.

Fight Like A Girl will make you laugh, cry and scream. But above all it will make you demand and fight for a world in which women have real equality and not merely the illusion of it.

WRITE A REVIEW

A bit aggro

I almost always finish books once started but I found this one too much effort. Clementine's tone seems too aggressive for me, and whilst she makes some great points, her tone alienated me. Only for die hard feminists.

A great read!

I absolutely loved 'Fight Like a Girl', it left me feeling empowered and validated my experiences as a woman in Australia. The book is accessible and written in a way that enables the reader to engage with the core ideas - without having to understand any theoretical approaches.

I recommend this to every human to reads that I know

I wouldn't say this book changed my life but it certainly rang a lot of bells with me. Above all I applaud Clem's critical thinking and courage to shout out, and this is a book that NEEDS to be read by young women all around the world not just (older) women who are already on board with these views and feelings. I will be buying this for my neices and nephews

With a teenage daughter, I found the book disappointing . Inappropriate language and a repetitive rant throughout.

Have recommended this book to others and have given my copy to a younger friend. The themes of empowerment and genuine friendship shine. This work challenges ideas about gender issues and prompts discussion.

Highly recommended by ABC and a friend. Not what i thought it would be and found it difficult to continue at times. Many valid arguments and discussions.Would recommend for young women so they do not get caught in many of societies traps.

Every woman should read this!!!

5

Every girl and woman (and probably every boy and man) should read this. The experiences that Clementine Ford talks about really resonated with me and it is so important to educate yourself and others about the issues she talks about in this book to stop the inherent sexism that is everywhere.

I didn't read this book ... I devoured it!

Confronting, challenging, engaging, hilarious, gut-wrenching and ultimately life changing. I bought this for my 18 year old daughter but will certainly pass it on the the 14 year old also...never too young to expose the invisible cage we are in. Thanks Clementine, for your brilliant narrative in articulating all I wanted to say to my daughters about the different life I want for them and why. Outstanding work.
