A beautiful, positive and unique book!

5

Beautiful artwork combined with a unique and positive story and theme. A great book suitable for the whole family. It was a nice change to find a kids book that has a deeper meaning is not just the usual trivial story that has been done before.

Family sharing across cultures

5

A picture book like this can be a gift to a family, to encourage tolerant discussion of different viewpoints.I especially like Anna Pignataro's illustrations of the children who could be of many cultures. 'Elephants Have Wings' enables a family to talk, and share the legacy of their stories but also appreciate differences. Educators can read-share it to encourage discussion of spirituality and different beliefs. The elephant is a symbol in many belief systems. But this story is presented in a way younger children can also enjoy.
