About the Author

Anna Witte received her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin and now lives in Seattle, Washington. Born in Germany and raised in Madrid, Spain, Anna grew up in many cultural and linguistic contexts. She credits her unique collage art style and her imaginative storytelling to her multicultural experiences. The Parrot Tico Tango was her first title for Barefoot Books. She later authored Barefoot fan favorite Lola's Fandango, which was named an Ezra Jack Keats Honor Book in 2012 and has been published in Spanish as El fandango de Lola.
