From the international bestselling author of The Dry and new novel The Lost Man.

Lost, Cold, Desperate ... Danger Runs Deep

Five women reluctantly pick up their backpacks and start walking along the muddy track. Only four come out the other side.

The hike through the rugged Giralang Ranges is meant to take the office colleagues out of their air-conditioned comfort zone and teach resilience and team building. At least that is what the corporate retreat website advertises.

Federal Police Agent Aaron Falk has a particularly keen interest in the whereabouts of the missing bushwalker. Alice Russell is the whistleblower in his latest case - and Alice knew secrets. About the company she worked for and the people she worked with.

Far from the hike encouraging teamwork, the women tell Falk a tale of suspicion, violence and disintegrating trust. And as he delves into the disappearance, it seems some dangers may run far deeper than anyone knew.

Industry Reviews

"[O]nce again Harper manages to touch on something mythic in the Australian experience of the land"
The Age

"The narrative is finely constructed, with perfectly measured pace and suspense. So much so that it reminded me of another master of form, Liane Moriarty. As with Moriarty, Harper has that rare touch that manages to cross the genre divide and appeal more widely to general readers"
The Saturday Paper

"Harper's mastery of pace makes Force Of Nature one of 2017's best thrillers"
Elle Magazine

"Gripping thriller will have readers hooked"
The Sunday Telegraph

"Force of Nature proves Jane Harper, author of The Dry, is no one-hit wonder. Its premise is instantly gripping"
The Herald Sun

Very good

After reading "The Dry", I'm a bit of a fan of Jane Harper. This doesn't disappoint at all & I want to read more about Aaron Falk đŸ™‚. Set in modern time in Australia, this story is about a missing woman on team building weekend. I found this story to be interesting & entertaining, kept me engrossed to the end.

Great book

Really enjoyed this book. Unable to work out the killer !

A great holiday read

I enjoyed Jane Harpers first book and was keen to see how she followed up on it. I was not disappointed. Very different setting but hard to put down. Characters are well defined and the plot unfolds gradually leaving the reader keen to move on and learn more. Australian countryside is beautifully described.

Hard to put down

Great engaging story. Can't wait to read the sequel. Set in Australia

A Good Read

This book is riveting. I would read a chapter & then leave it to do something else, but before I knew it I had picked it up again.

Loved this book "Force of Nature"

I was interested to read a book by a young Aussie writer who is becoming successful. As a long ago high school English teacher I refrained from criticism of some plot contrivances as it was a good read. I look forward to Jane Harper's next book. Her device of continuing each chapter to keep you turning the pages is clever,
