An American psychological thriller-horror television series exploring the early relationship between the renowned psychiatrist Hannibal Lector and his patient Will Graham, a young FBI criminal profiler, who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers.
Hannibal continues its second season with Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) locked in a mental asylum, accused of Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) crimes. Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) is dealing with his own feelings about Will, and whether his protégé is in fact a cold-blooded killer. With Will locked up, Hannibal becomes Jack’s new consultant on cases. The deadly dance between these characters continues to turn in startling and unexpected ways, in a season that will show nothing can ever be the same again.
'Somehow it has become an engrossing, psychologically dense show that is also visually stunning. Hannibal is the kind of gem seldom found on network TV.' - Willa Paskin, Slate
'Hannibal's second season elevates the surprisingly-high bar set by the first - creating binge-worthy television that makes you, like the titular character, covet for more.' - Phil Pirrello, TheWrap
'From the unofficial slogan of the show ("Eat the rude") to the food-theme episode titles ("Amuse-Bouche," "Potage"), [Bryan] Fuller leavens the grimness with just enough irony.' - Gail Pennington, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
'[It] is a feast of macabre freakishness, going beyond the realm of guilty pleasure in a sustained nightmare of horrific yet elegantly hypnotic design.' - Matt Roush, TV Guide
'The show's greatest asset is its mastery of tone, a quality most shows don't have the time or inclination to get right.' - Matt Zoller Seitz, New York Magazine
