Seven years after the death of Edward Hyde, a stylish gentleman shows up in foggy London claiming to be Dr. Henry Jekyll. Only Mr. Utterson, Jekyll's faithful lawyer and confidant, knows that he must be an impostor - because Jekyll was Hyde.

But as the man goes about charming Jekyll's friends and reclaiming the estate, and as the bodies of potential challengers start piling up, Utterson is left fearing for his life ... and questioning his own sanity.

From the internationally acclaimed Australian author Anthony O'Neill comes Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Seek, an ingenious, original sequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

About the Author

Anthony O’Neill was born in Melbourne and currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. His novels, published to acclaim in 17 languages, include Scheherazade (2001), a revisionist Arabian Nights epic; The Lamplighter (2003), a philosophical tale of the macabre set in 1880s Edinburgh; The Empire of Eternity (2006), a mystery involving Napoleon Bonaparte and the early years of Egyptology; The Unscratchables (2009), a pop-culture satire featuring anthropomorphic dog and cat detectives; and The Dark Side (2016), a hardboiled crime novel set in a city on the moon. In 2017, Xoum will publish Anthony's new novel, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Seek.

Praise for Anthony O'Neill

‘It is hard to think of another recent Australian novelist whose career has begun so flamboyantly and yet with such assurance.’ The Bulletin

‘Altogether brilliant.’ Philadelphia Inquirer

‘What you get in O'Neill’s novels is a vivid evocation of time and place, allied to an unflagging narrative drive. His language can be casually arresting. But his rarer quality is that his dramatic imagination is as strong as his sense of history.’ The Sydney Morning Herald

‘The subjects that have inspired Anthony O’Neill have never been close to my heart. Yet [his] seductive mixture of historical fact, redemptive philosophy and wildly imaginative fiction have reeled me in every time and made me a willing convert to his interests.’ The Adelaide Advertiser

‘A masterful storyteller.’ Publishers Weekly
