The sixth book in the internationally bestselling Clifton Chronicles from master storyteller Jeffrey Archer

Cometh the Hour opens with the reading of a suicide note, which has devastating consequences for Harry and Emma Clifton, Giles Barrington and Lady Virginia.

Giles must decide if he should withdraw from politics and try to rescue Karin, the woman he loves, from behind the Iron Curtain... but is Karin who she says she is?

Sebastian Clifton is now the Chief Executive of Farthings Bank but his rivals continue their attempts to supplant him.

Harry Clifton remains determined to get Anatoly Babakov released from a gulag in Siberia, following the international success of his acclaimed book, Uncle Joe. Harry's wife Emma convinces her new friend Margaret Thatcher to raise the subject with the Russian President when she visits Moscow. But then something unexpected happens that none of them could have anticipated.

Cometh the Hour is the penultimate book in the Clifton Chronicles and, like the five previous novels - all of which went to number one on the Sunday Times bestseller list - showcases Jeffrey Archer's extraordinary storytelling with his trademark twists.

Industry Reviews

Archer continues his storytelling magic to create characters of spellbinding substance, and readers can count on his surprising twists and shocking conclusion. Here, just when the end seems too tidy, Archer provides a killer cliffhanger Publishers Weekly The ability to tell a story is a great - and unusual - gift ... [it] is not something that can be taught or acquired. You have it or you don't ... Jeffrey Archer is, first and foremost, a storyteller -- Erica Wagner The Times on 'Only Time Will Tell' I was utterly hooked. It was an absurdly enjoyable read -- Anthony Horowitz Daily Telegraph on 'Only Time Will Tell' This is a cracker of a read. And quite "unputdownable" ... It is quite captivating ... and just as you sit on the end of your seat expecting all the loose ends to be tied into a neat little bow, Archer drops a bombshell in the last paragraph of the last chapter -- Jerry Hayes Spectator on 'Only Time Will Tell' I was touched and enthralled by this tale ... I won't spoil it for you by revealing any more. Or the trademark twist, which is gasp-making Daily Mail on 'Only Time Will Tell' Archer continues his storytelling magic to create characters of spellbinding substance, and readers can count on his surprising twists and shocking conclusion. Jeffrey Archer does it again

Jeffrey Archer keeps your attention through each and every one of these novels - this being No. 6. Each particular character is allotted a chapter in progression with the main storyline. We can only trust that good triumphs over evil in No. 7 - being the conclusion, and only sorry we have to wait until the end of the year to see how it all finishes up. If you haven't read any of this series, do yourself a favour and start.....you will not be disappointed.
