Blunt: A Biased History of Australian Rock isn't in alphabetical order, it isn't definitive and it doesn't tell the whole story. It's a messy, honest slice of Australian music history, a collection of tales from a time when anyone could start a band, play a few nights at a dirty hotel and stagger home feeling good about it all. A time when fanzines where typed up on an old Olivetti, photocopied and stapled together and nobody cared about spelling mistakes; when bands recorded in living rooms and sold tapes at the door.

Bob Blunt is a fan. He called people up, stuck a tape recorder in front of their faces and made them talk; about their history, their favourite anecdotes and the events that shaped their musical lives. Bands, radio stations, record companies, magazines, promoters and managers hustle for space to have a say, to tell it like it really was ...

Great window into a lost time and a vibrant music scene

This was a great read. It took me right into that time and the lives of the musicians promoters punters and publicans in the pre internet days of underground music! If you ever saw or loved a band around this time they're probably in here!
