\"bob\"<\/a>Bob Dylan awarded Noble Prize for Literature<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

He\u2019s the iconic American singer-songwriter that is the voice of a generation, and overnight Bob Dylan can now add the Nobel Prize in Literature to his long list of accolades.<\/p>\n

The first musician to win the award and the face of the 60\u2019s hippie movement, Dylan\u2019s distinctive voice and writing style will be studied for generations for its historical relevance. In a media conference, Sara Danius, Permanent Secretary of the Nobel Academy said the committee had great unity in choosing Dylan for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”<\/p>\n

It is however, not without controversy. As this article is being written, Twitter is erupting in debate over whether the legend is worthy of having this recognition;\u00a0 concerns have arisen as to whether this will open the door for more musicians to win the recognition traditionally saved for authors and poets.<\/p>\n

Dylan is as yet to comment on the award.<\/p>\n

Adored by all who have read it, Working Class Boy<\/em>, which is only part one of his story, has dominated charts and has outsold Bruce Springsteen\u2019s Born To Run.<\/em><\/p>\n

Part two is due to be released for Christmas next year and is still currently being written.<\/p>\n

Two very different takes on one very definitive time and band. Both are must-reads for the fans of music royalty.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
