Over 400 Australian authors. 60 international writers. Thousands of readers. We could only be talking about one thing \u2013 the 2016 Sydney Writer\u2019s Festival!<\/span><\/p>\n

The lineup has been announced for this year\u2019s festival and what a festival it will be. International authors and literary bigwigs<\/b> gracing our shores will include Julian Barnes<\/a>, Jonathan Franzen<\/a>, Jeanette Winterson<\/a> and William Boyd<\/a> – also, feminist powerhouse Gloria Steinem<\/a>, 2015 Booker Prize winner Marlon James<\/a> and author of The Girl on the Train,<\/i> Paula Hawkins. <\/a><\/p>\n

\nAustralian authors will include: Tim Flannery, Anna Funder, Sofie Laguna, Magda Szubanski, Kerry O\u2019Brien, Andrew Denton, Bob Brown, Peter Garrett, George Megalogenis, Rosie Waterland, Stan Grant, Sarah Ferguson, Amanda Keller, Drusilla Modjeska, Susan Johnson, Charlotte Wood, Elizabeth Harrower, Mark Tedeschi, Mark Dapin, Don Watson, Frank Moorhouse, Laura Tingle, Tony Birch and Annabel Crabb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poet-rapper Kate Tempest<\/a> – dubbed a young Patti Smith – will be giving the prestigious opening address. Hanya Yanagihara<\/a>, author of A Little Life<\/i>, will be giving the closing address.<\/p>\n

Booktopia\u2019s very own John Purcell <\/a>and Caroline Baum<\/a> will be appearing, too.<\/p>\n

The festival will be held from Monday May 16 \u2013 Sunday May 22<\/span><\/span> across sixty-five city, suburban and regional venues.<\/p>\n
