Nominations for Australia’s Favourite Author are now open!<\/h3>\n

The poll that stops the nation is back! \"\"<\/p>\n

We’re asking\u00a0you to tell us your favourite Australia Author!<\/p>\n

Novelists, picture book authors, historians, biographers, all authors are now all open for\u00a0nomination!<\/p>\n

You see, January at Booktopia is the month of Australian Stories, an entire month dedicated to celebrating books by Australian authors.<\/p>\n

To celebrate, we need your help to discover Australia\u2019s Favourite Author\u00a0(don’t forget to check out the results for 2015<\/a>, 2014<\/a> and 2013<\/a>)!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Help us by lodging your favourite authors over the next week.<\/strong> At the end of the week we\u2019ll take the authors with the most nominations and put them into heats where you can champion your favourites.<\/p>\n

Once we have a top 50, we\u2019ll put it to a worldwide vote right here on our blog!<\/p>\n

Then, on the week leading up to Australia Day, we\u2019ll count down your votes from 50 to 1, with Australia\u2019s favourite author to be announced on Friday the 29th<\/span>\u00a0of January!<\/strong><\/p>\n

HOW IT WORKS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

WEEK ONE \u2013 JAN 4-10<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Let us know your nominations for your favourite Australian author. As many as you like, anyone who you think deserves recognition! You can do this through\u2026.<\/p>\n

– Tweet us at\u00a0@booktopia<\/a><\/p>\n

– Let us know on Facebook at\u00a0https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Booktopia<\/a><\/p>\n

WEEK TWO \u2013 JAN 11-17<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Heats! We\u2019ll take the top 200 nominations and split them up into groups you can vote on! Every day from Monday to Friday a new heat will go up, with the Top 15\u00a0from each heat going through to the final round of voting.<\/p>\n

WEEK THREE \u2013 JAN 18-24<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Only the best of the best will make it through to the final poll. We\u2019ll have this poll up all week. This will be the final chance to cheer for your favourite Australian Author.<\/p>\n

WEEK FOUR \u2013 A WEEK OF AUSTRALIAN STORYTELLERS<\/strong> \u2013 Voting will close on Sunday the 24th<\/sup> of January at midnight. From Monday the 25th we\u2019ll count down\u00a0the top 50, unveiling 10 authors each day, until\u2026..<\/p>\n

\nAustralia\u2019s 10 favourite authors will be announced on Friday the 29th\u00a0of January.<\/strong> We\u2019ll be profiling all of the top 10 authors and the books that have made them your favourites. It’s a festival of Australian writing!<\/p>\n
