There\u2019s no surprise at all that his most recent book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/shake-a-leg\/prod9781741758900.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Shake A Leg<\/em><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u2013 with lively illustrations by the talented <a href=\"http:\/\/www.booktopia.com.au\/search.ep?author=Jan%20Ormerod\" target=\"_blank\">Jan Ormerod\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 was named the 2011 Winner (Children\u2019s Fiction) in the prestigious Prime Minister\u2019s Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by members of his own family, Boori\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; who hails from Northern Queensland and the Birrigubba and Kungganji nations &#8211; has cleverly woven his ancient traditions, culture and stories in a modern day yarn.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Through the story of three young fellas hunting for\u00a0pizza we get an insight into contemporary Aboriginal life. It\u2019s a place where\u00a0Blackfellas speak Italian (in fact, they go to Italy which takes the meaning of \u2018going walkabout\u2019 to a whole new level). Where Murris are chefs, nurses and sound engineers. Where crocodile pizza is washed down with milkshakes (now that\u2019s what I call culinary fusion). Where the busy street acts as the bora ring today.
