Me:<\/strong> Funny thing is, I was going to put myself forward for the role of Jack Reacher but I didn’t because I thought they would think me too tall<\/em> for the role. Gee, how annoyed with myself was I when I heard that little Tommy Cruise had been awarded the role! I’d be a great Jack Reacher, too.\u00a0 Compare me with the stats below.<\/p>\n

Killing Floor<\/em><\/a>, set in the United States, earned rave reviews, and introduced the character who would secure Child’s place in the pantheon of great mystery writers: a 6 foot, 5 inch tall, 250 pound ex-U.S. Army military cop named Jack Reacher.<\/p>\n

He’s described in the book as “a rock.”<\/p>\n

His eyes, cold icy blue like the Arctic. His hands, giant battered mitts that bunched into fists the size of footballs.”<\/em><\/p>\n

This gem is from the TRIPWIRE blurb: \u00a0 Digging swimming pools by hand in Key West, Florida, Jack Reacher is as tanned and as fit as he’s ever been. A local girl says he looks like a condom filled with walnuts.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Tom may not be tall but if the pic above from his new film Rock of Ages<\/em> is any indicator he is well on his way to becoming\u00a0a condom filled with walnuts. So that should keep some of the grumblers happy.<\/p>\n

Thankfully LEE CHILD has come up with the best solution to this sticky problem – distract his ardent followers with the release of a new book. Coming in October, the sixteenth instalment of the Jack Reacher series…<\/p>\n

I don’t know what all the fuss is about, really. Is Tom too short to play Jack Reacher? From where I stand, they both look short.<\/strong><\/p>\n
