This obviously<br>applies all the time, but<br>especially when Mercury is<br>retrograde.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Renegotiate existing<br>agreements.<\/td><td>Make new agreements or<br>life-altering decisions that<br>you want to be absolutely<br>set in stone (because they<br>won\u2019t be).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Expect delays and even<br>cancellations when travelling.<br>You might not be able to<br>avoid travelling, so allow extra<br>time in case of cancellations,<br>postponements and delays.<\/td><td>Travel without a back-up<br>plan and check everything<br>in advance. Pack your<br>sense of humour along<br>with everything else.<br>(Mercury is the trickster!)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Allow plenty of time to deal<br>with possible delays when<br>travelling for appointments.<br>Reconfirm the details before<br>you set off.<\/td><td>Leave late for<br>appointments and expect<br>to make it on time. You\u2019re<br>more likely to end up<br>doubly late than to arrive<br>on time.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Renew your commitments<br>instead of making new ones.<br>Finish things you started a<br>while ago.<\/td><td>Start anything new before<br>finishing what\u2019s on your<br>to-do list. Otherwise you<br>might have to redo things<br>later.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Compare prices for something<br>you plan to buy later and get<br>repairs done on what you<br>already own. If you do buy<br>something, keep your receipt.<br>Reduce your clutter and give<br>away any old items.<\/td><td>Make major purchases,<br>especially a car or<br>computer, if you can<br>possibly avoid it. That said,<br>if you do buy something<br>big now, you\u2019ll likely<br>replace it under a future<br>Mercury retrograde cycle.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Reapply for a job. Rewrite your<br>CV.<\/td><td>Start a new job without<br>being prepared for a few<br>false starts and restarts. It<br>may take some time for it<br>to work out smoothly \u2013 but<br>you\u2019ll learn.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Return to a course of study you<br>didn\u2019t complete.<\/td><td>Start a new course, if you<br>can avoid it. On the upside,<br>anything started under<br>Mercury retrograde should<br>be easily tweaked and<br>reworked to suit your needs.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Keep your mobile charged and<br>back up your digital data.<\/td><td>Rely on your gadgets \u2013 it\u2019s<br>easier to mislay your mobile<br>or fall prey to a computer<br>virus while Mercury is<br>retrograde.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Get together with old friends<br>and expect to hear from, or<br>run into, people from your<br>past at the weirdest moments.<br>Double-check and confirm<br>all dates, plans, meetings,<br>appointments in advance.<\/td><td>Get together or schedule a<br>meeting with an ex without<br>careful thought. You\u2019re<br>more likely to experience<br>confusion, mistakes<br>and cancellations, or an<br>on-again\/off-again romance.<br>Romances that start under<br>Mercury retrograde will be<br>forever under the influence<br>of the cycle \u2013 but that can<br>work well. You\u2019ll have to test<br>it and see!<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Read all emails and documents<br>before you send them.<\/td><td>Send an email without<br>double-checking \u2013 you<br>could hit \u2018reply all\u2019 or send it<br>to the wrong person. Send<br>in unchecked work. This is<br>another \u2018rule\u2019 that always<br>applies but applies double<br>under Mercury retrograde.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Pause and breathe before<br>speaking. Repeat yourself if<br>necessary.<\/td><td>Lead people on, give<br>mixed messages or believe<br>everything you hear (actions<br>speak louder than words),<br>jump to conclusions, or<br>spread rumours.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If things do go wrong when Mercury is retrograde, try not to assume the worst. Give other people the benefit of the doubt. People, you included, are likely to be more careless, mistake-prone and forgetful when Mercury is retrograde; someone might not have read your e-mail or text \u2013 the fact that they haven\u2019t yet replied doesn\u2019t necessarily mean they\u2019re ignoring you.
